Mixed Messages

Mixed Messages is an Original A3 mixed-media collage on heavyweight paper using vintage women's magazines, tissue papers and pigment sticks. 
The images may be from the 1960's but the messaging is still the same - don't be fat, don't be skinny, don't be sinful but don't be a wallflower and everything you do must be done with your man in mind.  Thankfully, todays messaging, while often depressingly familiar, is often offset by an empowering encouragement that was starkly absent from this magazine
